2019 was a year of transition as we received notice that the e49 Hub building was being sold and the next day were given an opportunity to move into The Creator’s Place @ The Artisan. We believe that 2020 is going to be a year for the books where we see the tipping point of the last 10 years of work!

2019 we get to see the opening of Compassion Village in Del Paso are and on the Church site of St. Paul’s COGIC. The e49 Foundation worked with churches, business and city leaders to fund and build 20 Tiny Homes on Wheels to meet the needs of 24 people experiencing chronic homelessness in the Del Paso are.
Income Stability includes meaningful employment, small business ownership, SSI and SSID.
Solutions based strategies don’t just focus on an initiative or one part of a problem. Solutions are the way entrepreneurs looking at starting a business. What is the problem your trying to solve? What is the solution to the problem?
If Homelessness the problem. There are a host of interdependent issues that come out of that problem. For instance, many times there are unresolved medical issues, lack of paperwork showing identity, not having an address means applications for assistance, social security or disability status was never achieved. The solution to Homelessness therefore, must include sub-solutions to the interdependent issues in order for them to be solved.
Important stats include # of persons housed but have to also include # of persons who remained housed each year? How many persons became income stable? How many persons gained meaningful employment? How many persons reconnected with family, friends or made new connections?
Compassion Village is one example of a solution based housing ecosystem. Shelter and permanent houses, connection to needed resources, community and income stability, then meaningful employment and giving back.

Poverty in a community is a mindset. You can house, connect to resources, community and income stability. You can integrate back into meaningful employment and entrepreneurship. But there will still be a history, systems and lack of opportunities that will stop people from stepping out of a poverty environment and mindset.
A wholistic solution to poverty has to include the basics mentioned above but also has to be a continuous educational and opportunity based partnership. In the same way someone relearns how to live in a home, there is a need to relearn how to expect more and create your own destiny through positive mindsets.
The Creator’s Place is a place to see this come into fruition. Part Lab to test and experiment with ideas; Part Marketplace and Part Academics; where you can take an idea to execution under one roof.
The e49 Foundation started in 2009 approaching social issues through events and one-day service projects. When there was a realization that it wasn’t enough and was never going to solve the issues, e49 began to partner with schools throughout the region and then in 2016 began to develop nonprofit housing.
2017 the nonprofit housing launched Compassion Village realizing that traditional housing wasn’t the best fit for people in poverty and especially in vulnerable populations where trauma is a part of the living environment. Separate living quarters, along with community spaces works amazingly well!
2019-2020 will focus on moving people out temporary living into permanent living and moving people from income stability to entrepreneurship and meaningful employment. Changing mindsets and changing lives!
